I came home last night around 9:00 to my daughter eating M&Ms and running around like a maniac. I then learned that her father had let her help him clean the floors by dipping a rag into a bucket of water and Murphy Oil Soap. Then, without washing her hands, he let her eat.
I immediately took her upstairs to clean her up and get her ready for bed and then I noticed her pajama sleeves were soaked with the cleaner. I can't stand the smell of that stuff.
His argument--Murphy Oil Soap is all natural vegetable oil.
My argument--It is still a cleaner. Would you clean the floor with the all natural vegetable oil we have in the kitchen? Would you stick your hand in the bucket and then put your fingers in your mouth? The bottles clearly states "keep out of reach of children" and it also says that not all formulas are the same so do not mix bottles of the cleaner together......all natural my ass.
I just looked up the ingredients online, there are some chemicals added, although a very small percentage. There is color and fragrance added and the cleaner can be a skin and eye irritant.
Madeline is two. What would make you think it was a good idea to let her use cleaning products?
