I want to be in Vegas too

Brian is in Las Vegas this week. I think he tricked me.....he said he wanted to travel for work to get some overtime so he could take time off of work to spend with me and the girls. So I said sure he could travel and then he comes home and tells me he is going to Vegas! And then, in August, he is going to France. So not fair.

Since he has been gone since yesterday I have been thinking about us. We have had some troubles recently but I really do miss him now that he is away. I like having him here.

You know when you are in a relationship with someone, the two of you eventually share things and have certain things that you do together or discovered together. They may be silly thinks like you both have to have the same ice cream or you bought a new cd together and the two of you listen to it every time you are in the car. You get to know the person so well and you kind of mold together a bit.

I used to get really upset because I thought that Brian and I did not have any of these little things because we have nothing in common and we argue about everything. But, I have discovered that this is not true.

For example, we both started drinking hot tea within the last year and delight in bringing each other home different flavors. I know this seems very silly but it is important. We also are choosing our own photos to enlarge and hang in our home instead of buying prints or pictures. They are pictures from when we went to Maine and also Seattle. We are also going to enlarge some of the pictures we took of the girls. Brian gave me the Into the Wild soundtrack (which is freaking awesome) and we both really enjoy listening to that cd and have decided to share it with all of our friends. We so rarely can agree on music that it is extra special that we both like something.

And, of course, we have the girls. We made them together and that is something only between the two of us. We get to be parents together and raise them together and watch them grow together.

So, we have lots of things to share. And I can't wait for him to get back from Vegas.

How sweet :) I firmly believe there's some truth in "absence makes the heart grow fonder." Hopefully this trip to LV will lead to some quality family time when he returns.
