I had a job interview last week. It went really well. I spoke to the company on Tuesday because they needed some additional information and now I am just waiting to hear from them. I am really excited about the possibility of going back to work.
The hours are 3:30 p.m. until midnight. Those hours work out really well because the girls will only have a few hours without me or Brian. They can either go to daycare part-time or have someone come to the house to watch them. We have been checking out different options for childcare and I have also contacted a nanny that I am going to meet with. One of the most important decisions for me was to choose a job that wouldn't put my kids in a daycare for ten hours a day.
I will still have Friday, Saturday and Sunday evenings without working. Every night the girls go to bed somewhere between 7:30 and 8:30 and that is when my day really begins. I have seven nights a week at home and I still do not have enough time to do all of the things I want to do. As soon as the girls go to bed I make dinner for me and Brian. After that I have a choice of what I can do until I need to get to sleep.
1. I could clean. The kitchen, living room and playroom are always a mess. I never even make it to the second or third floors.
2. I could watch tv or a movie.
3. I could read a book.
4. I could go to bed early and try to catch up on some sleep.
5. I could knit.
6. I could make jewelry.
7. I could answer emails and update the way too many pages I have on the internet.
8. I could spend time with Brian.
9. I could return phone calls and catch up with all of the people that I never talk to.
10. I could work on my writing.
11. If I could find an empty laundry basket I could do laundry.
12. I could go to the gym.
And I am sure there are about a million other things I could do with that precious 1-2 hours I have to myself every night. I do think, if I get a job, I am hiring someone to clean my house! Lillian is sleeping right now and Madeline is watching a show. I should probably be cleaning instead of updating this blog.
