Maid of Honor

So, I was asked to be a friend's maid of honor a few months ago. Last week she changed her mind and kicked me out of the wedding party. She said that she didn't feel we were close friends anymore.

Ok, we aren't really close. First of all she should have never asked me then, and second she should not have handled this through email. It is her wedding and she should do whatever it is that makes that day special. But still. I mean it was kind of rude and I was in her first damn wedding.

I am super pissed and very hurt. If I were even invited, I certainly do not plan on attending her wedding. So there!

Anyway, I just had to get that out. I think she probably made a new friend and wanted space for them. And if she is upset that we don't speak often or hang out, dude, she lives too far away and I have two kids. I think that friendship has about reached its limit.

Isn't it funny how lots of upsetting things seem to happen all at once? Why is that? I have just been feeling kind of crappy lately.

On a good note, I have started having Lillian sleep in her crib. I need to be able to separate from that baby sometimes. Just for a few hours without her screaming the entire time. So, she yells and screams and throws a fit and then passes out. She still doesn't make it through the whole evening but it sure is nice to have my bed back to myself. Although Madeline has started coming back into my bed over the last few days. She says that she is scared to be in her room. I completely understand because I am 29 years old and still terrified of the dark and monsters in my closet!

I got a membership to the Carnegie Science Center and that also includes the Warhol Museum, the Art Museum and the Natural History Museum. I am getting a little tired of being stuck in the house. The science center has an awesome floor for little kids and Madeline can play there for hours.

I haven't been making anything over the last few days. That is probably part of the reason that I feel so crappy. I do have story I have been working on in my head, but I haven't started to actually write it yet.

Well, I am off to bed. I just thought I would get some random thoughts down this evening. It is always a good thing to write stuff.

Good night.

You are right! It is good to get that stuff written down and out of your head! I was blow away by your post because I am going through a similar thing!! My best friend of over 25 years is getting married and she wants me to be in her wedding as a bridesmaid. Well, she did. She has been wanting me to come over and try on a bridesmaid dress for a few weeks, of which I haven't been able to because of life demands coupled with my forgetful nature. Anyway, she sends me a text message saying since I'm a piss poor friend she'll do me the favor of taking me out of the wedding since it seems apparent that I don't want to be in it anway.

I was just speechless. I recoginzed where her anger was coming from, but wow, she was writing me off. Out of her life.

Anyways, I called her and told her I understood where her anger was coming from and that if she still wanted me to be in the wedding I still wanted to be. We'll see if I get a call. She's a pretty firely lady and can get hot like that. I'm hoping she recognizes there is life after feelings and comes around and calls. I may give her another call soon, just to check and see if she's still pissed at me...
I hope things smooth out for you and healthy way. Love, Blake
