Hopefully a breakthrough

Madeline peed and pooped on the potty today! I am really hoping that this continues and I will actually have her potty trained before she turns three!

A friend gave me a great idea to help with getting Mad to use the toilet. She told me to get a goody bag of stuff and let her pick something every time she goes. So we went shopping yesterday and we now have a basket full of $1 junk stuff that she loves, like bracelets, erasers and little pens. We also got a dry erase calendar and we put a star every time she goes, and when she goes every day for a week she gets a big prize, a $3-$5 thing. She picked out bubble bath, funky pony tail holders, a barbie and I added some bath crayons and pencil holder with markers.

It is working so far (except that she peed in her diaper this morning and asked for a prize just because she peed..haha). I also take away her shows if she refuses to use the potty (not if she has accidents).

So, thanks Jill! You should have kids of your own......

We are off to the library and then my little cousins are coming over to play with Madeline today. We have a busy day!
