I took the girls to the zoo today.
By myself.
I am still getting used to being out and about with two children. It is so much more work than just having one.....that is a pretty obvious statement but you really have no idea until you actually have two.
So, before we left I had to get a band aid off of Madeline's face which made her scream for 10 minutes and left a long mark on her cheek. It looked like I slapped her with something. Then I had to get Lillian to calm down enough to get her buckled into her seat and get our lunch packed and get us in the car in one piece.
It was a perfect day to go to the zoo.....low humidity, blue skies and white fluffly clouds (something you see in Pittsburgh twice a year).
Apparently every other resident of Pittsburgh and the surrounding area that was at home with their children today also thought it was a good idea to go to the zoo.
It was packed. What a day to try it with two little ones.
I put Madeline in her stroller (she insisted because I was going to put Lillian in the stroller and have Mad walk). I came prepared because I knew she would do that, I put Lillian in the sling.
There I go, one in the stroller, one in the sling, feeling pretty good about being a supermom. The girls were really pretty well-behaved, I must say. We got into the park without any trouble and sat down to eat our lunch.
Then I felt a little warm and wet and realized that I had forgotten to put breast pads in my bra and I leaked all down the front of my shirt. I have really overactive boobs when it comes to milk production.
What are you going to do? I couldn't leave because we had just managed to get ourselves there. So, I pushed Lillian in the stroller (Mad wanted to walk now because she wanted to look at the animals), held Mad's hand and looked at the animals. I leaked two more times while we were there and I just went with it.
